He was under Capt. Turner in the Falls Fight, May 19, 1676.  He was ofSpringfield Mass. in 1679, and of Deerfield, Mass. in 1686.  He died inDeerfield, Mass. on Dec. 30, 1696.

A man of remarkable strength and great bravery, a "Noted wolf killer."The Hadley grist mill was in the possession of Robert and SamuelBoltwood.  In 1683 the town bought out their right.  Difficulty arose andthey surrendered to the Boltwoods in 1685.  Samuel and his son Robertwere slain in the Meadow Fight at Deerfield on Feb. 29, 1704.

Buried in a graveyard 1 mile east, 1/2 mile north of Madison.
Date of deathtaken from grave stone.  Stone is starting todeteriorate.
Buried beside him are Christian, Bollette, Ole and Emil. Clara Robbins1895-1958 and Willie E. Robbins 1896 1940 are to the south of histombstone.  She  was a granddaughter.
Came from Romskog moved to Dypedal 1850 emigrated to America 1882
