Joseph Day married Elizabeth Mattoon.  They lived in West Springfield(Ireland Parish), Massachusetts and later in Northfield, Mass.  He was asoldier in the French and Indian War and was killed at Fort Edward.

After her husband, Joseph Day, was killed in the French and Indian War,she married someone named Cooper.  In a deed of 1777 her children referto their interest in land given to their mother, "Elizabeth Day, aliasCooper," by their grandfather, Eleazer Mattoon.

He was born in Deerfield, Mass. and moved to Northfield Mass. about1717.  He then moved to East Hadley, Mass. about 1738.
