According to the Hiatt Cook Book, 2004, Elvert and Merle had 11 children. Elbert broke his neck in a farm accident but survived and worked on the ranch several years after.
The cook book where the information is given seems to be in error, a mistake, on the dates of elbert having him b. 1847 d. 1951 aand Merle 1886 d. 1957. His birthdate would be the age of his father, so mixed up here on Elbert. Romeo Hiatt.
History comes in a matching set, like towels.
