Our beloved son, brother, husband, and father, Brandon LeRon Healey, age 28, formerly of Salem, Utah, issued his final citation and returned home on February 26, 2000, while providing security at Rockingham Raceway near Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
He was born July 21, 1971 in Provo, Utah, to LeRon Elvin and Connie Davies Healey. He married Alexandra Houlis on November 4, 1998, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Brandon graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended the police academy in Salt Lake City. After joining the Army, he arrived at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, on October 18, 1994. He was assigned to the 21st MP Co. Airborne. In April of 1995, he volunteered for reassignment to the 118th MP Co. Airborne, to accompany them on their deployment to Haiti. After the deployment, Specialist Healey was reassigned to the 42nd MP Detachment, where he worked as a MP dispatcher. SPC Healey was later assigned to the 108th MP Co. Air Assault, so that he could go with them on their deployment to Bosnia. He served in Bosnia from March to November 1997. Upon his return, he was again assigned to the 42nd MP Detachment, where he worked as a Traffic Accident Investigator and forensic analyst. He and his family were leaving on March 14 for a tour of duty in Germany. He was posthumously promoted to Sergeant.
Brandon loved motorcycles, trains, computers, and animals. He loved the outdoors including hiking, camping, and the sand dunes. He loved life, but the total love of his life was his children.
