From "The History of Pike County, Illinois  1880".  August 1857, she was named in the petition of persons wanting a church in Pleasant Hill separated from Martinsburg.  The church in Martinsburg was headed by Elder David Hubbard until he left "with several other prominent citizens" for the Oregon Territory in 1853.
