Jonathan HODSON Jr.

In 1866, Jonathan  with the remaining six childern, left North Carolina and located in Raysville, Indiana. Where he became acquainted with and married Rebecca Cox (Pickett) widow of Mahlon Pickett. They moved to a place near Eudora,Johnson County, Kansas. He soon went to Butler County, Kansas and located on Goverment land known has the " Osage Trust Lands ". He died on this claim in 1872 and was buried there, but after a few months was removed to Rosehill Cemetery.                          During the Rebellion he kept out of the Confederate Army, being a member of the Friends Society, by the payment of 600.00 dollars. His house was headquarters of the neighborhood conscripts and deserters who were hiding to keep out of the army. With Rebecca he had three more children.


Jane MILLIKAN

Jonthan and Jane, had nine children. Three of their children died early in life and Jane was buried beside her children in Centre Cemetery,Guilford County, North Carolina. Her son says of her "A patient wife, a loving mother, a woman loved by all who knew her, a life, like which none  need be ashamed."
