The central monument in this cemetery has the inscription for Philip and Hannah on one side and for James and Rebecca on the other side. There are also unmarked, single stones for each of them plus stones for three of the nine children of Philip and Hannah.Family links:

I have her in my data base as "Emma Rebecca Babb;" however, there is an older source that gives her name as "Emma Rachel." Since her grandmother's name is Rebecca, that seems the more likely. Birth: Sep. 26, 1789 Winchester Frederick County Virginia, USA Death: May 14, 1875 ReedsburgSauk County Wisconsin, USA On May 14th, 1875, just 30 years from the time the original settler of Reedsburg made his claim, Mr. Babb passed away and was laid to rest in the family cemetery, located near the center of his Prairie. [In] Later years, his son, Phillip, and sons hauled stones, some measuring 12 feet and more in length, 12 inches in width and 15 inches in depth, from Loganville, and built a stone wall, 26 by 38 feet, around the burial plot; one William Robinson of LaCross pointing up the stones and helping lay the wall. There is a large center monument bearing Mr. Babb's oft repeated quotation: ¯"Man's inhumanity to man makes countless thousands mourn." There are also headstones for: James Wilson Babb, his wife, Rebecca; son, Phillip, and wife, Hannah, and their three children, Emma Rachel, Sarah Jane, and Strother Phillip. The above is quoted from As I Remember the unpublished memoirs of Esther Ambrosine Atkinson-Babb. She had quoted it from another unknown source. The last sentence of the above quotation should read "and three of their nine children."
