1870 census shows Joseph had a son born before he married Nancy Cordell in 1863, Mary Agnes (Gibson) Cordell and all the children were living in a John Parrish Household in 1860 census, as Mary Agnes is shown to have married John N. Parrish 12 Sept. 1859 in Shelby Co., IN. Yet in 1880 census in Martinsville, Morgan Co, IN Mary Agnes lives nextdoor to Nancy White, and is listed as Mary Agnes Cordell.
It is believed that Nancy married Samuel Cropper in Shelby Co, IN but she lived in Martinsville, IN in 1880. Perhaps Mary Agnes had died by then and she returned to Shelby Co.
