James Shaw JOHNSON

   James was from Portsmouth, Scioto Co, OH. He became a Methodist Minister and his first placement was in Helena, AR. He died trying to help rescue people from a sinking boat in the Mississippi river when he caught typhoid fever.

Luzena SPENCER

   Luzena married James Shaw Johnson in Helena, Arkansas, but after his death she returned by flat boat up the Mississippi to Cinncinatti,  by canal boat to Metamora, IN, then by stage coach to Liberty, Union Co, IN, where her mother was living. Just as she arriving in the stage coach her 1 month old daughter died in her arms. Luzena then met and married Stephan M. Harrell 12 Oct 1850. They Lived in Franklin Co, until a few years after the Civil war  when they moved to Henry Co, and lived in Mechanicsburg, and at Honey Creek (in Henry Co) until  1903, due to old age they moved in with her daughter Sarah Eliz., and Sarahs husband Samuel Brown Huddleston. Stephan Harrell was a relative of Samuel's maternal grandmother Margaret Harrell.

Calvin Leroy HUDDLESTON

Leroy became a Methodist Minister, convinced that God had spared the life of his wife Nellie after she became ill with Tuberculosis and was admitted to a sanitorium. He devoted his life from then on to serving God.

Nellie Catherine WILLIAMS

Nellie contracted Tuberculosis when she was about 35 years old, and was bed-ridden about 90% of the time after about age 50.
