MO. Death certificate only has 1841 on it, age 73 when died, and
birthplace
Missouri. "History of Solano and Napa Counties, pp 822-823 states "The
scene of
his boyhood years was passed near Springfield, MO, where he was born March
31,
1840." Springfield is in Greene County and Dallas County is Northeast of
Greene. However, this article has errors in it concerning Thomas' father
and
mother. Information sent by Helen Grigsby Canfield in the form of a
typewritten
list that she said Thomas had written himself of the members of him and his
wife
and their children with their birthdates. Copy of article in the St.

Helen, when Helen was about 9 years old, Nettie married Roderick MacDonald.
She
was married to him for about 5 years and would have married about 1916. Her
son, Johnny Grigsby, had deep feelings of dislike for Roderick. Helen said
he
was afraid that "Mac" would get the "Ranch" and Mac was not much of a
farmer.
Somewhere I saw where Nettie was running a boarding house in Oakland about
that
time. More research has to be done concerning this information, but my
great
grandmother showed up as Nettie MacDonald in both her mother and father's
obits.
