Andrew Allison Will (Entire) dtd 20 May 1780 Rowan County, North

Carolina, Book C, page 178 "In the name of God Amen this 20th

day of May  in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred

and eighty, I Andrew  Allison of the County of Rowan and state

of North Carolina being very  sick and weak in body but of

perfect Mind and Memory, thanks be unto God  for the same,

calling to mind the (page 179) Mortality of my body, and

knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die, do make

and ordain  this my last Will and Testament, that is to say

Principally & first of  all, I give and recommend my soul into

the hands of Almighty God, it and  for my body I recommend it to

the Earth to be buried in a Christian like  and decent manner,

nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I  shall

receive the same again By the mighty power of God, and as

touching  such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to

bless me with in  this life, I give devise and dispose of the

same in manner and form  following that is to say, In the first

place, I give and bequeath to my  loving son Adam my large Bible

and my best suit of wearing apparel, to  him and his heirs for

ever. I likewise give and bequeath to my loving  Daughter

Elizabeth fife shillings

sterling money to her and her heirs for ever. I likewise give

and  bequeath to my loving Daughter Sarah, One horse named

Gilbert, and one  Negro girl named Sarah to her and her heirs

forever, I likewise give and  bequeath to my loving son

Theophilus, Five Negroes (Viz) Sambo jude, Ben  Hannah, &

George, to him and his heirs forever - (page 180) I likewise

give and bequeath to my son Adams daughter Ann my bed and

furniture, I  likewise give and bequeath to my Daughter

Elizabeths son Andrew Oliphant  One two year old Horse colt of a

dark bay colour- I likewise give and  bequeath to my daughter

Sarah son

John one Young mare named silver heels and one grown Cow, I

further give  and bequeath to my son Theophilus one half of the

Remainder of all my  Estate to him and his heirs forever. I

further give and bequeath to my  daughter Sarah the other half

of my Estates which Remains to be equally  divided betwixt her

and her son John to them and their heirs for ever.  And I do

desire that, that part of my Estate which is to be divided be

not exposed to sale but be divided by the parties themselves or

by  indifferent persons chosen by them for that purpose. lastly

I do hereby  constitute and appoint my son Theophilus Allison

Executor of this my last  Will and Testament, and I do hereby

disannull and Revoke all and every  other former Wills and

Testaments by me made and do publish pronounce and  declare this

to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have

hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year first above

written,  signed and sealed in presence of the subscribers
