in home graveyards on their own lands. I have visted all of their graves, knew
most all of their children, went to school with some fo their children, and many
of their grandchildren...

Edgefield County [SC] soon after the close of the war, one of the first settlers in this section of [the] Country [Anderson Co?]...
He raised 5 boys and 4 girls...
His father, John Nicholas MARTIN was born 1704...

1790 - census, Pendleton Dist, SCRobert W. Pickens, Easley SC, April 1943 letter:
James [WELBORN], born 1763 and Aaron, born 1766, brothers, came directly
from Virginia to SC 1788 or '89, setttled in the Eastern side of Anderson
County near the Saluda River and their farms joined.
James' wife was Elizabeth YONGER. We only have account of two of their
children, Moses and William...
... James and his family (except Moses and William moved to Missouri, 1818.
Lost sight of his family since then. He served as deacon in Bg [sic] Creek
Church near Williamston when he lived in SC....
