My father left 4 children by his first wife and 4 by his last wife, his
widow is living where he died & his affairs will all be easily settled.
... my oldest sister living was married in July to Cousin Joe DOUGLASS, son
of Uncle Joe DOUGLASS who married my mother's sister... the rest of us are
about home & unmarried....

Samuel H. WALKUP of Union Co., NC to his uncle Samuel WALKUP of Richmond KY,
states that his oldest sister living "... married Joe DOUGLASS, son of Uncle Joe
DOUGLASS who married my mother's sister." Mary was his oldest sister living in
1846. QUESTION: Was she previously married to an INGRAM? In his letter of 1845
Samuel mentions his sister Mary and niece Eugenia INGRAM were living with him,

father an Mother, I haf onest More throe the mersey of God am permits to ____
lines to let you no that we are yet in the land of the lifing an tolerable
well at this time for which we ot to give thans to God for his kiness on to us
his pore unworhty Creters and Sincerely hope that these lines will find you
both well with all brothers and Sisters and there familys Elizabeth ouer
youngest Chile Departed this life the 2 of November last it is hard to see
ouer little ones Sufer and die but we must Submit to the will of of God who
noes best when to take us all an as for the hapiness of ouer litle ones we
dare not dout for God hath said Sufer litel children to Come to me an for bid
them not for of Such is the kingdom of haven I ad no more on this subject
Betsy has another fine son and is all well or was a few dase a Gone the river
has been up for some time that we cod not pas but we are luking every day for

I have herd from Robert this spring by mr. Morton who sen him in Roseport
(Rocheport, MO) he was well than an for his famly I dont no nothing about
them for I hant sene nor herd from them sense I move form there so I must
