RESI
According to a poem written by his widow, Paulina Taylor Bryant, MadisonDaniel Bryant died of "fever."The following is a poem written by Madison Bryant's granddaughter NonnieWright Cox Garrison, describing Madison and Paulina's house:
Grandma and Grandpa's HomeI used to enjoy going to Grandma's
And carrying water from the spring- -
Drinking water from a gourd- -
It smelled so nice my heart would sing.Grandma's house has long been gone,
And corn grows where it stood.
Two log cabins Grandpa built
Made a home so fine and good.He hewed the logs, made nails and boards,
Built the chimney out of rocks;
Those rugged days deserve our praise,
Strong families weathered life's hard knocks.
Chris had their marriage as 6 Dec. 1854.
