 p. 55.  "... The mission [to the Chickasaw Indians at Cotton Gin Prt [Fort?]
on Tombigbee River in MS] obtained some support from the US Govt for its
educational program and reports had to be made to the Dept. of Indian Affairs.
In those old reports we find:
 ''Mr. PICKENS and family consisted of eight in number and have been living
at this place."
 Mrs. Mary PICKENS moved to Fayette Co., Tenn. where she is shown on the
census of 1830 with her five children, four sons and 1 daughter... "
 p. 56. "David G. PICKENS, b. 1801 in SC moved to Natchez Mississippi. Shows

LETTER from E. M. Sharp, Memphis TN, to Martha Hawkins, Monticello AR, dated 31
Aug 1977; ; ; ; transcript provided by John C. Pickens, St. Augustine FL, to
Terry McLean, Anaheim CA; FILE: Enc #P-300 (jcp disk 1nov94, S-KERR.txt).
 "Rev. Israel Sidney PICKENS, youngest son of Andrew and Margaret GILLESPIE
PICKENS.... was converted and decided to enter the Ministry while he was working
with the Cumberland Presbyterian Mission in what is today Monroe Co., MS about 8
miles west of Amory. It was a school called Charity Hall, intended to educate
CHICKASAW youth. His brother Andrew PICKENS was a teacher there as was a
daughter of Andrew. Both of them died one summer of fever..."

 p. 55.  "Andrew...was born about 1780 and died 1824 in Monroe Co., Miss.
m. Mary ____? She later married William MCCLAIN, Dec 5, 1839, Hardeman Co.,
Tenn. Obtaining records of this family is difficult. The Cumberland Presbyterian
Church established a mission to the Chickasaw Indians at Cotton Gin Prt [Fort?]
on Tombigbee River about 7 miles west of the present Armory, Miss. The mission
obtained some support from the US Govt for its educational program and reports
had to be made to the Dept. of Indian Affairs. In those old reports we find:
 Dec 10 1823, the information that Mr. Andrew PICKENS, Mrs. PICKENS, Miss Jane
PICKENS, and Isza PICKENS, arrived at Charity Hall to begin their work The name
of the mission was Charity Hall.
 Report for 1824 states: "In the summer of this year Mr. Andrew PICKENS died of
inflamatory fever, also his daughter, Miss Jane PICKENS, instructor of the
female students. Mr. PICKENS and family consisted of eight in number and have
been living at this place."
 Mrs. Mary PICKENS moved to Fayette Co., Tenn. where she is shown on the census
of 1830 with her five children, four sons and 1 daughter..."

Ada Hudiburg in Savannah, Tenn. Ada was born September 12, 1872.  Her parents
were JG Hudiberg, Born May 18, 1844, and Ellen C.Gillespie, Born April 25,
185[?].  JG's and Ellen's children were Ada, U K, A J, and H M.  Does any of
this help, or can you help us?  Any information you have would be appreciated.
We don't know where either William M. Pickens or Ada Hudiburg were born.
