Condra, Mary 65William Condra married in 1851 to Catherine Steen at Centerville, Jackson Co., TN
William Condra made application for bounty land 25 Nov 1850 for service in War of 1812. Served as a private in Capt. Thomas Stirret's Coof 14th Regt. KY Militia. Entered service 20 Nov 1814 and served until 30 Dec 1814. Claim was suspended and he applied again 16 April 1855.On 9 April 1878 Catherine Condra applied for a widows pension (The above in same file, National Archives).
Applied for a Widows pension 9 Apr 1878. Catherine was undoubtedly married to Mr. Steen previously, perhaps died because William was living with her at the time of the census. Also her children, STEEN children, were ages from 14, 8, 6 and 11/12, would seem likely that William could be the father of Ann Steen or did her husband just die or leave by the time William just happend to be at her house by that time, married in 1851?
On 9 April 1878 Catherine Condra applied for a widows pension (The above in same file, National Archives).
Resided in Cumberland Co., PA Gass name also spelled GESS/ GOSS/ GASS.

Not sure if this is the correct John GASS but have an article under Eli HIATT that mentions John GASS.
"John Gass had settled at his place, southerwest of Winchester, and was keeping tavern there when teh Ways, etc., came from South Carolina, in the spring of 1817.
The first entry in Randolph County used to be said to be three miles east of Winchester, whre Miles Scott now lives. That land was entered by Jeremiah Moffett, in Dec., 1812., etc.
occupation of this person is a Farmer.
Married to Mr. Hughes first.
