James and his family immigrated to Adams Co., IL in 1836 and settled in Northeast Township. James died from exposure in the Mormon uprising in the Carthage area, December 15, 1846. His wife, Elizabeth died Feb. 9, 1877 and they are buried in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Adams Co., IL.
