Following information from newspaper clipping La Porte City, IA: "Funeral
services were held Sunday afternoon [8 Jul 1934] in the home of Mr & Mrs
Wm Sawyer for L B Clark, who passed away at his home in Pasadena, CA, [2
Jul 1934]. The body arrived on the morning train and was taken to the
Sawyer home. At three o'clock a short prayer service was held after which
the body was taken to the Sawyer cemetery in Spring Creek township for
burial. The service at both the home and cemetery was conducted by Rev C
D James, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. The deceased is
survived by a wife and one daughter. Mrs Dan Lanning (nee Minnie Arene
Clark), a sister of the deceased, accompanied the remains to this city,
Mrs Clark (nee Sedalia Lillian Sawyer) being unable to come on account of
illness. Mrs Fronah Shaw, another sister, and two children of Chicago,
were also here to attend the funeral service." Prior services were held
in Pasadena at the Turner & Stevens Chapel, Marengo Ave, on July 5, 1934,

6Following information taken from newpaper clipping of local La Porte
City, IA, news item: "Relatives here received word Tuesday of the death
of Mrs Lant B Clark of Pasadena, CA. Her death occurred at the age of 83
years on Monday morning at 10:15 and was due to a heart attack. Burial
was Wednesday in Pasadena." [Ed. note: Mountain View Cemetery is located
in Altadena, CA] "Mrs Clark was born Sedalia Sawyer in Spring Creek
township, northeast of La Porte City and was reared and married there.
About 37 years ago she and Mr Clark moved to California. Since her
husband's death she had made her home with a sister, Mrs Cora Snyder, who
survives. Also surviving are one brother, Walter Sawyer, Alpaugh, CA and
a step-daughter, Mrs Golda Waterhouse, Pasadena. Mrs Clark was a sister
of the late William Sawyer of this city." Other information "Sedalia was
a musician, she loved music throught her entire life and she sang in the
church choir for many years; through music she found beauty and the
symphony of life. She was also a teacher, teaching music and painting for
many years. At the age of 16 she taught her first Sunday School class of

Following information from a Pasadena area paper (Clipping):"Funeral
services for Kathryn V Mornin, 700 East Walnut Street, will be held
tomorrow at 2:30 pm at the chapel of Reynolds & Eberle, 825 East Orange
Grove Avenue. Dr. B D Snudden of the First Methodist Church, of which she
was a member, will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain View.
Mrs Mornin, who died Dec 6, had lived in Pasadena for 35 years. She was
born at La Porte City, IA and was the widow of Charles Mornin. Before
coming to California she taught in the public schools of Iowa and also
taught here for some years. She is survived by two brothers, William
Sawyer of La Porte City, Ia., and Walter R Sawyer of Alpaugh, Cal.,and two
sisters, Mrs Sedalia Clark and Mrs Cora D Snyder of Pasadena." Additional
