Jean BROUSSARD

from "Book of Charts" Vol I Terrebonne Gen Society printed by Audrey B
Westerman Gen La 929.3763 B00 VI
from AGE, Vol XX, # 1, page 21:"Mr. Arsenault (HGDA - RON) (p-1350) stated
'Jean Broussard, b. 1727, s/o Claude and Anne Babin of Port Royal m. 7-4-1747 @
Grand Pre Osite Landry, d/o Jean Landry and Madeleine Melanson of Grand Pre.
Children: Firmin 1752; Madeleine, 1753 and Jean 1760 - and they were all
deported to Maryland and established in Louisiana.'
The July, 1763 Census of Portabaco, Maryland has listed:'Jean Broussard, Anne
(Landry), his wife, Firman, Madeleine and Jean Broussard.'
As the Louisiana census records state that these Broussard children were now
the 'step-children' of Rene Landry - and additionally, when Firman Broussard
married in 1775, his listed parents were, Jean Broussard and Anne Landry - it
is apparent that this is the same family as the Portabaco, Maryland family of
Jean Broussard and Anne Landry."
