from ADJJ, V 4, page 327, Doc P-112-2:"Poche is a French occupational name for
a maker of 'Kits, saddle-bags, pouches.' In this instance the name of the
product was added to the single given name of the maker as a surname for more
exact identification.
 An early census of the Louisiana area notes a Jean George Poch, age 39, a
weaver, and native of Strausberg of the Rhine, living with his wife and child
in the German village of Hoffen in 1724. Jacques poche, age 45, a shoemaker and
native of Ormes in Artois, France, was living with his wife and child in Hoffen
the same year. A later census notes a Jacques Poche and wife living at Cannes
Brulles on the river above New Orleans in 1726 and a 1731 census notes them in
the same place, but with a child. Another census in 1731 notes a Jacques Poche,
dit La Chapelle (called 'the Chapel') living with his wife and child at a place
on the river above New Orleans 'Old Bustard.'"

(Sgt.) listed in the Roster war of 1812 form St. James-Ascension Parish.

Jean Baptiste died in 1829.
       3. Louis Eugene born 1765, married 19 Apr. 1792 at Donaldsonville,
Isabel BABIN, born 1771, d/o Joseph BABIN and Marie LANDRY. Louis Eugene died
1826; Isabel BABIN died 7 Mar 1842."

Joseph ROBICHAUX

From FCAG vol 1 page 271:"Tuesday, April 19, 1757. we find Joseph Robichaud who
, with Monsieur Leblanc is having dinner with Rev. Parkman. This Joseph
Robichaud, born around 1694 was also the son of Prudent Robichaud and of
Henriette Petitpas, and thus brother of Louis and Marguerite mentioned above.
He had married February 7, 1718, at Port Royal, Marie Forest, daughter of Rene
Forest and of Francoise Dugas. They were at this time in Uxbridge with their
children, close to the state line of Rhode Island
