Johnson HATFIELD

Historical Notes:

(1) Johnson Hatfield was sentenced to prison for life in Kentucky, but pardoned
thereafter in a few years.  He became a land agent in Logan County, West
Virginia for U.S. Steel, Coal and Coke.  He died of a heart attack while riding
a horse on Ben's Creek.

William Anderson (or Cap) HATFIELD

Historical Notes:

(1) William Anderson Hatfield studied law and was admitted to the West Virginia
Bar.  He also served as Deputy Sheriff under his two younger brothers.  He died
at Johns Hopkins Hospital of a brain tumor.
