John Francis FRANKLIN

Information taken from a typed copy of an obituary prepared by the local
minister:"John Francis Franklin, son of George and Matilda Franklin, was
born in the state of Wisconsin, July 8, 1857, and departed this life
August 12, 1935, at his home 1248 Minnesota Avenue, Wichita, Kansas, aged
78 years one month and four days. At the age of six years he moved with
his parents to Black Hawk County, Iowa, where he spent his youth and early
manhood.  In 1909 he, with his family, moved to Wichita, Kansas where they
have since resided.  He was brought up in the Methodist faith and was
affiliated with the Wesleyan Methodist Church.  On January 31, 1884, he
was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Maria Teeter, and to this union were
born three children.  They are: two sons, George L of Oakland, Calif., and
Earl D of Wichita, Ks; and one daughter, Ada E (Mrs Ralph L Lankford) of

Nancy Maria TEETER

         The family farm home was in Section 15.

    Obit from La Porte City, IA paper:  T. D. Teeter received a message
telling him of the death of his sister, Mrs. Nancy Franklin, who died on
Tuesday morning (16 Feb 1943) at Wichita, Kans.  She was eighty-four years
old, born and grew to womanhood in Spring Creek township.  After her
marriage she lived on a farm in that vicinity for several years before
moving away.  She is survivied by two sons, Earl and George, and one
daughter, Mrs. Ada Langford.
