Letter dated 8 Mar 1994 from Lynne Ramsuar, included information sent to her
by Idus Davis (Enc #P-102).
"Some cemetery inscriptions in old Tirzah Cemetery (Presbyterian), Union
County, NC, DAVIS family:
 Dedicated to the memory of Robert DAVIS who was born Feb 17th, 1771 and died
Dec. 18, 1836 in 63rd year of his age.
 Inscribed to the memory of Margaret DAVIS, wife of Robert DAVIS, who died
April 22, 1844 in 61st year of her age.
 Sacred to the memory of Israel P. DAVIS, born Oct. 3rd 1813, died Nov 8th
1854.  Age 41.  Two sons to mourn the loss.
 In memory of Jane Minerva, wife of Capt. I. P. DAVIS, and eldest daughter of
Co. T. W. and Martha L. HUEY, who died Sep 20, 1844, age 22 years and six
months, leaving a husband and 2 children.
 Col. Alexander G. DAVIS, Jan 5th 1843, age 31 years.
 John N. DAVIS, March 31st 1816 - Jul 22, 1883
 Mary A. wife of John N. DAVIS, Nov 30 1830 - 1856, leaving two children.

LETTER FROM SAMUEL H. WALKUP of Union County NC to his uncle Samuel WALKUP of
of Richmond KY, dated 21 Sep 1844 (sent to me by Jean Danielson) Enc #P-184:
 "... Robert DAVIS and his wife are dead, the latter died this last winter.
They left only four children, one of whom (Israel) married a daughter of Col.
Thos HUEY who was a son of old James HUEY.  Young Israel DAVIS' wife died
yesterday..."
