John WALLACE Sir

(1) Sir John Wallace took the name Burnside, because the family lived near the side of a burn (creek), i.e., Burnside.  One of his sons realizing his being a younger son would prohibit him from inheriting the estate, when to the "Plantation of Ulster," (Northern Ireland), where he settled at Raphoe in 1608.
