(1) Charles Vincent purchased a small farm in 1681, in the northerly part of
what is now Van Cortlandt Park located on bot sides of the brook which feeds
the pond in the park, known as Mosquito or Tibbitts Brook.In 1701 he conveyed his farm to his son Charles Vincent and he and his wife
probably continued to reside there until their death sometime after 1713.January 1702, Charles Vincent, Sr. was elected vestryman of the Episcopal
Church.
