   Dr. Ed Pickens, an old Sindey boy, the son of W.A. Pickens, of this place, who has been practicing for some time at Benkelman, Nebraska was operated on for appendicitis at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha last Friday.  His mother went to Omaha on Thursday and his father on Friday to be present when the operation was preformed.  The latest reports from the patient are very encouraging and it is thought he is well on the road to recovery.
