Josie H. (Joyce) Hiatt
Josie H. (Joyce) Hiatt, 85, died Tuesday, April 12, 1994 in Sandy, Utah.
Born April 15, 1909, in Fairview, Utah, she was a former resident of
Portola.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She and her hsuband served a mission for their church in the Sacramneto region from 1979-81.
She had worked as a cook in several restaurants and most recently she worked as a cook for the Desert Industries, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri H. Owens of Portola and Delores
Hiatt of Philadelphia, PA; her sons Teddy G. Hiatt of West Jordan, Utah,
Robert F. Hiatt of Springville, Utah, and Richard Hiatt of Escondido, and her
15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Services were held at Larkin Gardens Mortuary in Sandy, Utah on Thursday
April 14.The two children Delores and Richard Hiatt were raised by Josie and Samuel Hiatt. They are the children of Harry Hiatt, Samuel's brother, to prevent the children from being sent to a orphange.
