According to Betty Prichett, daughter of C.K. McLemore:
"I have been told that Claiborne Kinnard McLemore didn't have two nickels to rub together when he became a young man ready to seek his fortune. Daddy said that he was a professional gambler and actually rode the Mississippi riverboats. He made a fortune. He retired from the gambling life when he married Patti."
"The house where my parents live now was built in the mid 1870s as a wedding present from a loving father (no kin) who lived in a home (now destroyed) that was on the Columbia Pike in easy horseback riding distance. My grandfather purchased it around the turn of the century for his new bride Patti DeGraffenreid and had it completely modernized."
Died shortly after the birth of daughter Patti.
