Margaret died in 1867 after bearing three more children. Robert then married Emma, who bore him 10 more children. Robert was 65 and Emma 50 when the last child was born. The names of these children are not known.
Robert was in the Confederate Army, a third sergeant in Captain Hancock's Company, the same unit in which his brother Arnett served.
