Nathan Veatch SHIELDS

    Nathan married Polly Onion on Aug. 6, 1827, after her death he married Mary Kingery in March of 1835.  They moved to Fullerton Co., ILL. in 1836.  He, like Williams son Robert, was a wheel wright by trade.

David SHIELDS

Was a farmer and school teacher. He lived for a time at Louisville, Kentucky and then moved to Indiana, where he was a stonemason, a farmer and a cooper. While living in Indiana, he married Eliza Onion, by whom he had 10 children, of whom six were living in 1879.

Christine R. Brown shows this David as the son of David of the 10 Brothers.
