Wilson Ertel MABREY

  Wilson was the mayor in Carter Lake for abt 32 years, ran illegal activities, speak easy's, etc. and was known for hosting the best parties for corrupt politicians, judges and police out of Omaha, NE.  Carter Lake had been cut from the shores of Iowa when it once flooded and cut thru leaving a new river path and the little piece of Carter Lake on the NE side.  Thus, no one wanted or had real authority over Carter Lake, too hard for Iowa and not legal for NE to have jurisdiction, so became a perfect place for all sorts of ilicit activities.
