Thomas Joseph CLOSE

Another source picked up from the LDS archives shows a Thoams J. Close as
father in place of Goodman.
   From Ye History of Ye Towne of Greenwich, Ct. by Spencer Mead, 1911.

Came to America about about 1642    From original manuscript locatedat the New York City Historical Society.    The Close family hasEnglish origins but probably originated with the Normans. John Closeappears to be the emigrant ancestor of the New England Close family.He arrived in Connecticut during the period of 1635-1645. He married awoman anmed Elizabeth and they were the parents of John and ThomasClose. Thomas married Sarah Hardy in 1669 and is the common ancestorof all Close's from Connecticut. Descendants live in Connecticut, NewYork and other states.
