correct.
Jacob and Massie (Bray) Hadley went from Indiana and entered a tract of
land north east of Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa. Both of them are buried in the
Amboy Friends Cem., six miles north east of Newton.

BRAY FAMILY
Edward and Henry Bray, brothers came from England. More information
later. Edward married Sarah Maynard and had children, inlcuding Henry Bray, b. 8-22-1755 who m. Keziah Jones who was b. 3-19-1761.
Other daughters of Henry Bray and Mary Wilson were:
Sarah Ramsour; Mary Johnson; Catherine Jones and Elizabeth Poe. We have no
knowledge of anything further about them. The family were all members of the
Church of Enlgand, including Edward.
The Bray family descends from Sir Edward Bray, through King Edward III,
from DeBray of France.
Some sources attribute the wife, or a second marriage to a Rodgers. Also
rather there may be two Henry Brays, one born about 1715, one born abt. 1681,
also as to which is a brother of Edward. Also see notes of Mrs. Margaret Bray: Quotes Hopewell MM, pg. 464, Hinshaw: Henry Bray born abt 1710, died in Chatham Co., N.C. 1793/4, will probated in 1794. (See above) m. Mary Wilson and their son was Edward Bray who married Sarah Maynard. Records of Fairfax MM of Friends in Fairfax Co., Va.: 10-27-1759 Sarah Bray, formerly Mayner, having been disowned for marriage out of unity some time past, requests to be recorded in membership; also requests certificate to Cane Creek MM, N.C. Issued 11-24-1759. She died according to Deep Creek MM, records 3-15-1803.
One source of information is the book, "Bray's of Fisher River" by
Edna B. Reece, Vol 2, 1982.Regardless of what we have in these records, I believe and must try to
find answers for it, that there were two Henry's wrapped into this one. I
believe that Henry was the son of the Henry born abt. 1681, and that the second Henry was born in N.C. about 1715 and married Mary Wilson. The fist was married to a Mrs. Jones. NO PROOF, just suspicion that needs clarifying. LANotes from Opal Lousin and Betty Holmes, 1981.
...."The first record we find of hte Bray lineage is that of Henry who was born about 1681, probalby in England, and came to America while young. He lived to a ripe age of over 100, if the records are correct. His wife was Mary Wilson and they lived in Chatham Co., M.C. One of the sons was Edward born aobut 1720 who married a Quaker, Sarah maynard/Mayner/Maynor which displeased her father very much because Edward was a member of the Church of England. In her father's will (Henry), he omitted Sarah and any other child who did not marry within the Quaker faith. Sarah died in 1803 and we are not yet sure when Edward died but he is buried in the Quaker Cem. in N>C> also. One of their children was Henry Bray, bron in 1755 and married Keziah Jones, born 1761, dau. of Richard Jones and Jemima Huff."...
Pg. 3 of Bray-Shelton-Jameson Reunion notes.
"Since the Bray Reunion book was written we have located a copy of the Will of Henry Bray, dtd. 17th day of June 1790, probated 1794 in Chatham Co., N.C. which would indicate that his son Edward was the one who married Sarah Bray. It is thought that Henry had a brother, Edward, who came also to America. Henry's wife was Mary Wilson, to whom he left one bed, furniture, her saddle and a third part of all the rest of his household goods, chattles, and moveables as her own property and the use of his home plantation so long as she continues to be my widow or as long as she pleases to live thereon except she married." See his will as to how he divided his properties. This was suppose to be Edward if going by the story of Congessman William
G. Bray of Martinsville, Ind. See notes under Edward Bray, son of Henry Bray.Bray's of Fisher River by Edna B. Reece Vol 2, 1982. Nephew of Dr. Thomas Bray, came to America 1700 (Maryland then to Carolina).

The Jones families were Quaker lines, the arirval of 1699 coincides with
the second voyage of William Penn, wherein many Quaker families arrived. Many families were in transit from England, stopped over in Ireland for ahile before coming on to America to escape religious persecution.CHART of BRAY LINEAGE as prepared by Mrs. Margaret Bray
