Floyd Cecil ANDERSON

Floyd had a farm around Holton, Kansas and Ozawkie.  He was doing a lot of traveling around last we heard of him, 1993. He was an electrician and our families were very close for many years as we lived in Oroville, Calif at least from 1957 thru the end of 1966. Glenn's family moved to Chowchilla in July 1966 but Floyd and his family stayed in Oroville for many more years.  He also lived in Missula MT for awhile before moving back to Kansas.

                                                         Floyd Cecil Anderson  (November 9, 1914 - September 24, 2009)

   HOLTON- Floyd Cecil Anderson, 94, of Holton, KS, formerly of Valley Falls, passed away September 24, 2009 at Holton Community Hospital. He was born November 9, 1914 south of Denison, KS the son of Arthur Monroe and Ethel May Robbins Anderson. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1933. He had lived in Oroville, CA from 1957 - 1971, lived in Missoula, MT from 1971-1984 and had lived in Holton, KS since 1987. Floyd worked as an electrician in the shipyards in Oakland, CA during and after World War II; he later worked as a journeyman electrician. He was a member of Lakeview Faith Chapel south of Holton, KS and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1941. Floyd married Elizabeth Joy Hammond on July 20, 1933 in Lyndon, KS. She passed away in June 1971. He later married Bertha Ethel Cain in 1972 in Tulsa, OK. She survives. Other survivors include 4 sons, Dale M. Anderson (Wanda) of Kennewick, WA, Clinton R. Anderson of Boise, ID, Robert D. Anderson (Patsy) of Fresno, CA and Paul L. Anderson of Denison, KS; a sister Beulah Clark of Salt Lake City, UT; 17 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Ronald D. Anderson in 1968. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Ozawkie Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Lakeview Faith Chapel c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
