I was sorry to hear about your son. About the only thing you can do is to keep busy. We lost our oldest son two years ago just before his 65th birthday. I do not "do" geneology but several of my family do. I first got in touch with Larry and Tanya Anderson through my neice Dorothy Royset who was born in California and lived here until a couple of years ago. My grandfather (Jerome Coffin Hiatt) was one of Shubael Coffin Hiatt and Maria Louisa Sylvester's four children. Jerome Hiatt married Jessie Maud Kooken in Iowa in 1894. Jerome and Jessie Hiatt were both born in Iowa. They homesteaded in Mountrail County, ND and both died in Stanley,ND. Jessie died in 1949 and Jerome died in 1952. (I never heard of any of the family living in South Dakota.) My mother was their first child followed by eleven siblings. All but one became parents and helped to populate ND and beyond! I am the oldest of their grandchildren still living. (Several years ago they had a Hiatt reunion and rented part of a Girl Scout Camp in Montana for the occasion!) My oldst son researched the Keith ancesters and followed them back to royalty in Europe. He died two years ago and I don't know what happened to the research papers he had. One of my nephews (Dennis Logue) lived in Utah for years and now lives in Texas. Could that the Dennise Logue, or possibly his daughter, you mentioned in your email? jebrooks@sonic.net

Funeral in Oregon for Former Sanish Area Resident,Funeral services were held March 10th from Hillside Chapel, Oregon City, Oregon for Mrs. Vernon (Josie) Fowler, 71 who died March 6th. The Fowlers were one-time Sanish area residents. They left this area many years ago to make their home on the West Coast. Survivors include: Husband Vernon; sons, Dale and Donald of West Linn, daughters, Mrs. Richard (Bernice) Allen of Prineville, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Anderson, Long Beach, Calif., sister of Clifford Hiatt, Helena, Mont., Mrs. Hilma Holden, Berthold, N.D., Mrs. Dolly Myra, Minot, N.D., Mrs. Louisa Frethiem, Ross, N.D., Mrs. Jessie Henderson of Selah, Wash., 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
