All,
Thank you very much for your efforts in helping me to locate my great-great-grandfather's family.  As indicated, his name, as I was told, was Daniel Pleasant Hiatt. He was married to Ida B. Hiatt. I believe her maiden name was Moon.
At the time of the 1920 Census, Daniel and his wife, Ida, were living in Westfield (Township), Hamilton County, Indiana. This settlement was founded by Quakers, mostly from North Carolina. Hiatt is a prominent name in Guilford and Surrey Counties in North Carolina, where several Quakers settled. Likewise, it is a prominent name in parts of Virginia. At the time of the Census, Daniel lists his age as 54; his wife, Ida's, as 44. Daniel lists Indiana as his place of birth. He lists his parents' place of birth as North Carolina. Ida lists Indiana as her place of birth and her parents' place of birth as North Carolina. At the time of this Census, Daniel and Ida had two daughters living with them: Edith, who appears to be 24 or 25; and Daisy or Daisey, who appears to be 17. One daughter is missing, Estelle or Estella, who is my great grandmother.

Daniel and his wife were living in Westfield, Indiana at the time of the time of the 1930 Census. Daniel lists his age as 64; his wife, Ida, as 52. They list the ages at the time of their marriage as 29 and 18, respectively. Daniel lists Indiana as his place of birth. This time, he lists his parents' place of birth as "United States." Ida lists Indiana as her place of birth and her parents' place of birth as North Carolina.
Daniel is buried in the Westfield Cemetery. Unfortunately, all my relatives who knew or knew something about Daniel are long gone. My efforts over the years to find out about him and his family have been fruitless.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance or information you might provide in helping me to establish my line through Daniel Hiatt.

Thank you and best regards,
Drew Hiatt

Pleasant was apparently living in Winchester, Ind. at the time of his mothers death in May of 1913. Pleasant was the youngest of the children and in their letter honoring their mother the letter stated that the youngest child was only 14 months old at the time of their fathers death 11 Dec. 1874, that would have made him born in Oct. of 1873. I have him with 3 children. I have no further information nor anything further on his wife, no dates places or parentage, any and all information, notes, data, stories, histories, family information even to present date would be wonderful. I have information going back on him so always glad to share all I have. Sincerely, Larry Anderson

I suspect that this Daniel was the son of William Pleasant Hiatt and Hannah born in Indiana....I don't have any connection to them in my data base, but I'm sure that my friend, Larry Anderson that lives in Chubbuck, Idaho, has him in his data base...Larry was or is president of the Hiatt Organization and has written the 3rd Vol. of the Hiatt family...the first two were written/put together by Wm Perry Johnson. A lot of Larry's Hiatt family/research are from the Indiana Hiatt group....I will forward this on to him.. Del

DANIEL PLEASANT HIATT AND IDA MOON are his grand or great grand parents.

His family line went North to Virginia and settled years ago as Quakers.  Other Quaker groups jointed the church.  He has a cousin who has researched one Quaker line back to 1150 AD.  He seemed to know a lot about the Quaker groups and his ancesters.  I told him about the research you have done and all the names you have found.  He would be excited to hear from you.

Take care,

Reed
