Harry Edgar Knepper, son of Hiram and Fredrika Stull Knepper was born Sept. 5, 1879 at Guy, Atchison Co., Mo. His parents came to Mo. about the year of 1877 from Quincy, Penn. Mr. Knepper, the youngest of seven children, resided at Guy until he built a grocery store at Clay Center, Mo. There he met and married Miss Vida Morford, Day. of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Morford. His early business years were spent in farming and as a grocery merchant.
In 1918 he became associated with the Standard Oil Co. at Maitland and
continued until his death Oct. 13, 1940. The twenty-two years spent in that
work made him the oldest man in point of continuous service in the St. Joseph
district of the Standard Oil Co.
Both children of Harry Knepper graduated from the Maitland High School.
They are Edgar M., who lives in Kansas City, Kansas, and Dale who married
Evelyn Crider, dau. of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Crider, and now lives at Desloge, Mo.
