Sallie KNIGHT

                                           Miss Sallie Knight Dead
At her home in Guilford College yesterday morning at 9 o'clock occured the death of Miss Sallie Knight.  The deceased was about 74years old and had been an invalid for several years.  She was  a sister of mrs. Mary E. Hiatt, of near greensboro and a true, devot Christian.  She had many relatives in Greensboro and was well known here.
The funeral was conducted at Guilford College this afternoon at 3 o'clock and the remains interred in the cemetery there.

                                                                           North Carolina Christian A-
KNIGHT - Miss Sallie Knight was born April 14, 1825, and departed this life at her home near Guilford College Station, June 23, 1899, aged seventy-four yeas, two months and nine days.
She professed religion and joined the Methodist Church and had lived a devoted and faithful Christian life.  We have seen in her strong will, gentle disposition and cheerful submission to the will of our merciful Heavenly Father, a great faith and much patience in her aflictions, which were great and indescribable.  By patient continuation in well doing and suffering she sought for glory, honor, immortality and eternal life.
She was an invalid and a great suffer for thirty years.  She had been unable to work for six years and had not been out of the house but twice in four years, had not walked a step in two years and had been entirely helpless for six months;  and in all her affliction she was never known to murmur or complain.  Her solicitude and help for others in distress almost caused her to lose sight of her own sufferings.  She had every attention that the untiring devotion of her sister Jennette could give her, but death claimed her and she was ready, and now rests from her afflictions in the home of the redeemed.
May the lesson of patient submission and Christian resignation she taught be a rich benediction to all who knew her.  Funeral services were conducted at New Garden in the presence of a large number of symapthizing friends where she now sleeps to awat the resurrection day.
