"Hiram ORR, Aged 92 dies at the home of his Daughter at Alma, Saturda y morning.
On Saturday, August 27, Hiram ORR, aged 92 years, 8 months, and 11 day s died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Brubaker of Alma Tw p., where he made his home since 1913.   Hiram Orr, son of Zachariah a nd Mary ORR was born in Licking County, Ohio December 16 1828, his par ents being pioneer settlers of the Buckeye State.  At the age of 21 h e was married ot Mary Basom, of the same county and to this union was born three children, Mrs Frances Meechling of Perry Co., Ohio, Mrs Mar tha Stevenson of Marion County, Illinois, having preceded their parent s to the great beyond, Mrs. Ediith Brubaker, of Alma, being the olnly surviving member of the family.
Mrs ORR [wife] passed on to her reward July 3rd, 1914.

In 1866, he with his family moved by wagon road to Marion County, ILLI NOIS, settling on a farm near Summit Praire Church, where he continue d to lived ..

Mary BASOM

" ... Mary Basom, daughter of Joshia [?] and Margaret Basom, was bron in Muskingom County, Ohio November 22, 1830.   There she grew to woma n hood, removing later with he parents, to Licking County Ohio.   Ther e on Octber 10, 1849, she was married to Hiram ORR, continuing to resi de there until 1868, when they moved by the wagon road to Marion Count y, Illinios reaching there October 1st ... settling on the farm just s outh of the present site of the Summit Paririe [Primative Baptist] Chr uch.

NB   Hiram's obit says they moved 1866.

She died July 3, 1914 at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

Mary DUSTHEIMER


Marriage record in the Licking Co, Ohio GS Library.    Mary DUSTHIME R  m.   27 JUL 1826 in Licking County, Ohio
Records at the Salem, Illinios Marion County Clerks Office state that Hiram's mother (Mary) was a "Darcharmer" [Dustheimer] and both she an d Zachariah were born in Pa.
