William Spencer SPICER

Obituary from unnamed newspaper:

William S. Spicer Dead

Died Monday, September 21, 1908, at his home Northeast of Madras, William S. Spicer, at the age of 79 years and 3 days. Deceased was a native of Ohio, and had been a resident of Oregon since 1900. Interment was held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. I.D. Brown, the Baptist minister, of which denomination Mr. Spicer was a member, conducing the funeral service.

MANSFIELD -- Services for Ronald Lee Spicer Sr., 40, of 1496 W Fourth St will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors by the Rev. Charles Moore of Diamond Hills Baptist Church.

Mr. Spicer died Friday after being pinned under truck he was repairing.

Military services will be held at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday one hour before the service.

Born April 13, 1949, in Mansfield, where he lived all his life, he was an employee of Peabody Barnes, where he had worked for 17 years.  He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and also was a captain in the International Radio Patrol.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Diane Gordon Spicer, a son, Ronald L. Jr. at home; a daughter, Claudia Denise at home; his father and step mother, Raymond and Betty Spicer of Mt. Gilead; his mother and stepfather, Betty and Robert McKinsey of Ontario, Calif; a twin brother, Donald of California; another brother, Raymond E. Jr. of California; and a sister, Joann Spencer of California.

Utica, April 19 - George Elmer Weiss, 86, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Mercy
Hospital, Mt. Vernon.   He was admitted to the hospital Saturday.  A
resident of Utica for 60 years, he was employed by the Ohio Fuel Gas Co,
until his retirement 19 years ago.
He was born May 28, 1862, in Licking County, the son of William H. and Julia
(Keeran) Weiss.  His wife, Martha Jane Spicer, died in 1911.  Surviving are
seven children: Mrs. Jennie Atkinson, Frank and Harry Weiss, Mrs. Mary
Hedges, Wilmer Weiss, Charles Weiss, and Mrs. Garnet Weber.
Funeral services will be held at the residence in North Washington Street,
at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by Oliver Johnson.  Burial will be made in
South Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the family home.  Funeral

Death of Mrs. Weiss
Martha, wife of George E.Weiss, died at Grant Hospital in Columbus Monday,
after an operation in which there was removed an eight-pound tumor.
Mrs. Weiss was taken to Columbus Sunday morning and an examination by Dr.
Baldwin satisfying him that there was no hope for life without the
operation, it was decided to proceed.  It was about noon when the delicate
operation was performed, and a little more than hour later the patient
expires without having become conscious.
The remains were brought to Utica Monday night, and funeral services were
held at 2 o'clock Wednesday, Rev. Long of Centerburg officiating.
The deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Mary Ellen Spicer of St. Louisville, and
was in her 39th year.   She is survived by her husband and nine children,
all of whom live at home except Jennie Merrill who is there temporaril

Rollie H. Spicer, 75, of 2288 Jerome St. , a district director of the Maccabees Mutual Life Insurance Co. many years, died Wednesday in Toledo Hospital . Mr. Spicer retired 10 years ago from the insurance company. Born in Ohio , he was a Toledo resident 40 years. He was a past commander of the Maccabees.
Suriving are his son, Raymond E., Sr., of Mansfield ; daughters, Mrs. Catherine Stutz and Mrs. Eva Bonecutter of Mansfield ; sister, Mrs. Fern Wymer, of Mansfield , Mrs. Goldie Pearl , of Bellville, O., and Mrs. Velma Waddell, of Mount Vernon , and nine grandchildren.
The body will be in the Walker-Feilbach Mortuary, Talmadge Road , after 2 p.m. Friday. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the mortuary, with burial in Toledo Memorial Park .

A former Mansfield street car conductor, Rollie H. Spicer, died Wednesday night in Toledo after long illness.  He was 75.

Mr. Spicer was born April 27, 1893 in Utica, Oh, and his parents moved to Mansfield where he worked until leaving for Toledo in the 1920s.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Roy Bonecutter; RD 1, Shelby, and Mrs. Wilbur Stutz, Sr., Mansfield; a son, Raymond Spicer of Mansfield, three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Wadell of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Goldie Pearl of Bellville and Mrs. Fern Wymer of Mansfield, nine grand children and eight great-grand children.

Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. in Walker-Feilbach Funeral Home, Toledo, with burial in Toledo cemetary.
