Minerva Ann HIATT

My great grandmother was Minerva Ann Sevenson, nee HIATT, born 1/20/1873 in Centerville, Iowa.  She married Charles E. Stevenson in Aurora, NE, 1893.  Her parents were Lozenia and Oren HIETT.  They later lived in CA.; 3 brothers, J. A. C. HIETT of Loma Linda, CA. and L. B. HIETT, Modesto, CA., listed in her obituary.

                       MINERVA ANN STEVENSON
   Funeral services for Mrs. Minverva Ann Stevenson, 76, wife of Charles E. Stevenson, and resident of Kansas for the past 44 years, who died at her home near New Salem about 10:30 Saturday night, were held at the Baptist Church in Burden Tuesday afternoon.
   Services were conducted by Rev. F. C. Medearis of Miami, Okla., a former pastor of the church.  He was assisted by the regular pastor Rev. Bob Maultsby.
   Singers were: Mrs. Bob Ore, Mrs. Bob Maultsby, Bill Headley adn Clyde Coffee.  Songs used were: "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Rock Of Ages", and "Good Night and Good Morning."  Mrs. Bill Headley was at the Piano.
   Pallbearers were: Jim, George adn Hoyt Craig, Roy Lumbert, Glen Arnold and Jim Nichols.
   Burial was in the Highland Cemetery at Winfield.
   Mrs. Stevenson, the former Minerva HIETT, daughter of Oren and Lozena HIETT, was born at Centerville, Iowa, January 20, 1873.  In 1893 she was married to Charles Elmer Stevenson at Aurora, Nebraska, and in 1905 the family came to Kansas.  For 42 years they have lived on a farm in Salem township near New Salem.
   Until her health failed her she took and active interest in all community affairs and never got too busy to help a neighbor or friend.
   She was a member of the Burden Baptist Church.
   Survivors include her husband; two daughters. Mrs. Elmer Rising of Winfield; three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Wade Coffey of Winfield, J.A.C. Hiett, and H.C. HIETT of Loma Linda, California, L. B. HIETT of Modesto, California; 6 grand children and 11 great grandchildren.
