Willard "Will" Carpenter Taylor, 64 of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Menan passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in Mesa, Arizona.
He was born September 1, 1948, in Idaho Falls, to Russell Done Taylor and Amelia Carpenter Taylor. He was raised in Lorenzo and graduated from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College. On November 16, 1979, he married Donna Jean Purser in Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He served faithfully & honorably in the US Army and retired from the National Guard. Will was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He worked for the Idaho Department of Transportation as a Construction Inspector. He enjoyed raising and training horses, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Taylor, of Mesa, Arizona; a brother, Ronald (Pat) Taylor, of Washington; his children Tawna Jean (Thane) Hiatt of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Kayce Ray (Kevin) Westervelt of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Lisa Marie (Joe) Shook of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Rhett Willard Taylor of Rigby, Idaho; Clayne Russell Taylor of Twin Falls, Idaho; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Scott Taylor; a grandson Joshua James Hiatt; and his sister Esther Elaine Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and for 1 hour prior to the funeral services on Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, please donate funds to cancer research.
Wilmer "Bill" Fred Taylor, age 87, of Rigby, died Friday, July 16, 2004 at his sons home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wilmer was born July 5, 1917 at Rigby, Idaho a son of Curtis Wilmer Taylor and Annie Sofie Petersen Taylor. He attended schools in Rigby, Northern California where he lived for 10 years and Ricks College. He worked for his father in the C.W. Taylor and Sons feed store in Rigby. In 1952 he started working for the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Clerk. He retired in 1976 after 24 years. On July 14, 1955 he married Grace Fullmer in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Rigby until 2 years ago when they moved to Salt Lake City. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for the church in the Spanish American mission spending time in Texas and New Mexico. He enjoyed raising flowers and vegetables to share with neighbors, friends and family. Survivors include: his wife Grace Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1 daughter Ellen C. (Ron) Bingham of Idaho Falls, 3 sons; Fred C. (Kathy) Taylor of Rigby, Lynn C. (Deena) Taylor of Kearns, Utah, Blaine J. (Robyn) Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1 brother Elbert D. (Lila) Taylor of Rigby, 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 1 brother killed in World War II and a son Myron Dee Taylor. Funeral services will be held Monday July 19, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clark Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Richard Howard officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
Sharon Crystal Martinsen, 70, of Rigby, died March 13, 2010 Quartzsite, Arizona.
She was born June 9, 1939, in Idaho Falls, to David Floyd Crystal and Harriet Eunice Johnson. She was raised and attended schools in Garfield and Rigby. On February 3, 1954, she married Gary L. Martinsen in Idaho Falls; their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 29, 2002. She worked for City Drug in Ashton and the Ashton Bowling Alley.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sharon enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeapordy, crocheting, cooking, traveling to the cabin at Palisades and wintering in Quartizite, Arizona. She especially adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Gary L. Martinsen, of Rigby, daughters; Cindy (J.T.) Hill, of Salem, ID, Susan (Denton) Allen, of Newdale, ID Peggy Oram, of Cody, WY, sons; Craig L. (Janice) Martinsen, of Salem, OR, Neil Ray (Gayle) Martinsen, of Midvale, UT, Rodney J. (Elizabeth) Martinsen of Calgary, Canada, sisters; Loa Joy Crystal, of Idaho Falls, Diane Nielson, of Idaho Falls, Brothers; Ronald Floyd (Karen) Crystal, of Garfield, Terry Lynn (Leah) Crystal, of Boise, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Larry Ray Crystal, a granddaughter; Breanne Hill, and a son-in-law; Trent J. Oram.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Rigby 12th Ward LDS Church, 602 Sundance, Rigby, with Bishop Ron Young conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
