My son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren are living in Tokyo and the storms, tsunami and earthquakes worry me no end. I sent your picture to my sister and she was shocked at how much you look like Robert Silas (our grandfather). She called you a spitting image. He married Gussie Toleda Horn. They had 4 children, Robert Ivan (my father), Irene, Margaret and Helen. Rufus Grandson Shields was Robert Silas Shields' father. They must have lived in the Carter Shields cabin while George Washington "Carter" Shields traveled with his wife, Laura Hayes. They never had children. Hi, so nice to hear from you too. I am sorely lacking on the SHIELDS, have some and have not really gotten too deep into the lines because no one has been communicating with me. I had some pictures but an uncle borrowed never to return! So I have very few left. I do have the SHIELDS books I typed off and copied, have to go thru those again to extract all the info to the files.
I don't have Margaret added, sure I should have but don't have a lot, I am not sure if I even have Robert Silas Shields, I have a Robert S. Shields born 1915, not much info on him though, just need to get back into it too. If you are doing some work let me know and I would work with you too.
I am now in the Philippines with my family the next few months and doing some work here on genealogy too. We have just gone thru, still going thru, a very strong earthquake with lots of damage, panic and confusion. Lots of warnings out causing more panic with the people said now on Monday we may have a hurricane too, mostly just rumors! But the main malls are shut down from damage, a panic on food and shortages. I have been doing what little I can, just now able to get out of the house a little to see SOME of the damage, but in some places a lot more severe then here. It was pretty scary, lots of damage and to this point about 200 people dead with some missing and lots injured.
do you know more of the lineages of Robert Silas? His father? Etc. I would like ot follow up too more and make additions and add whatever I may have to assist any others too. Thanks, Larry Anderson
