By the time of the 1880 census William, wife Mary J. and family have removed to Butler Co., KS. (ED 160-1) with son George residing as a neighbor. There is some confusion as to the spouses of William, is Mary J. and May J. one and the same person?
It is not known when the death of Jane occured, but it is suspected after the birth of son George.

George, wife Cornelia and family are residents of Butler Co., KS. (ED 159-23) and a close neighbor to his father. The family is still in Butler Co. (ed 8-3) in 1900, (ED 9-7) in 1910 and (ED 12-2) in 1920.
