Funeral services for James Howard Dunagan, 77, of Gladewater were held Thursday at Malcolm Stone Funeral Chapel in Gladewater.
Burial was at West Mountain Cemetery.
Mr. Dunagan died Tuesday, Oct. 11, at a Gladewater hospital after a sudden illness. He was born July 8, 1906, in Wilkins Switch, and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a longtime employee of Gladewater schools in the maintenance department and was a bus driver from 1942 to 1971. He was a member of Rocky Church of Christ, Gladewater. He was Democratic Party precinct chairman and served many years as election judge in the Rocky voting precinct.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thula Mae Dunagan, Gladewater; two sons, Frank Dunagan of Longview and Tommy Dunagan of Nachitoches, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bender of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Curtis Amos of Latch: seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren were pallbearers.
Moved to Upshur County at age 4.

Walter James Watkins retired on January 1st, 1941, after more than 43
years of railroad service. He worked for the Michigan Central
Railroad, which later became the New York Central. He was transferred
to Hastings on December 6th, 1902, and served there until his
retirement.
Died of a common childhood disease called "Coleran Phantom".
William Wallace Griffin was a building contractor in Thomasville, Alabama and moved to Texas in 1923 with a land company. He returned to Alabama in 1924 to get the rest of his family and later that year he brought them back to Texas.
In 1925, the family took him back to Alabama due to illness and he died there that year. The family returned to Texas in 1927.
MEDICAL: He had Bright's disease and died from an illness that
resulted from an insect bite.
Mollie Vivian Cassity and her husband came from Thomasville, Alabama, to Weslaco in 1923. Her husband died a year later and she returned to Alabama. But, a year later, she returned to Weslaco.
Probably died in St. Francis County, Arkansas. Was living in 1880.

She was born in St. Francis County, Arkansas, but spent most of her life in Texas. She lived in Fort Worth from 1917 to 1937. She moved to Gilmer is 1937, then to Tyler in 1947.

MEDICAL: Alice Lenore Ellis died of cancer at 7:05 in the morning on Friday, October 5th, 1951. She was 68.
OBITUARY: Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock on Saturday at Burks-Walker-Tippit Chapel with Reverend Kelly Simmons of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Malinda Catherine (Sis) ALDRIDGE
Malinda and four of her children are found in the 1900 Cross County, AR census.
Records indicate she is a widow and that she had 9 children, 5 of which were living in 1900.
Records also show that her mother, Lucinda, was living in the same family. Apparently, Malinda was Lucinda's only child.
