11. JOHN HANON3 BRAY (DAVID2, PETER1) was born 1780 in Surry County, North Carolina, and died Bef. 1845. He married NANCY UNKNOWN. Notes for JOHN HANON BRAY:Most of Hanon Bray's land was on Cody's Creek, but in 1808 he bought 279 acres of land on from Littleberry Bray on Bull Run. He received a land grant from the state in 1794 for the original land on Cody's Creek. the grant contained 200 acres of land and cost 30 shillings per 100 acres. Hanon made a will in 1843 with the following provisions:
"Wife Nancy 60 acres of land which she may choose adjoining the dwelling house with all my household and kitchen furniture, excepting a piano, bed, and furniture to go to my grandson, Lewis Bray. these items were his mother's."
In another place he deducted $10 from his son, Milton's, part. Son Joel was to th have the l;and on the south near the Cooper Path, southeast of rockford Road, northeast by the creek to the apple orchard, then south to Hanon's line [Will Book, 4, page 206].
