Stephen SCOTT

Soldier CSA Co. E, 44th Reg., NC Troops.  Enlisted 1 Sept. 1862.. He was hospitalized at Richmond, Va, on 2 Oct 1864 due to a gunshot wound of the left arm.  Some family members say he went to Texas and never returned... he died prior to 1903


James SCOTT

Soldier CSA Same Co. as his brother Stephen.  He enlisted 8 Mar. 1862.  He was captured aty Hatcher's Run, VA, on 1 Apr 1865 and was placed in the Point Lookout prison in MD until 20 Jun 1865.

John J STUTTS

Soldier CSA, Co. C, 10th NC Troops, 1st Reg. NC Artillery.  He enlisted 9 jul 1861.  Was wounded 30 Jun 1862 aat Curl's Neck, VA.  On 5 Jul 1963 he was captured and confined at Point Lookout, MD.  On 12 Oct 1864 he joined the army he had been fighting.


Parks Or Parker SCOTT

Inthe 1850 census he is 13 living with his brother Brantley.  In 1860 he is in the Moore Co. NC cesus at age 22 with a wife named Catherine, age 17 and 3 children. He may have gone to Texas.


Nelson SCOTT

Soldier CSA, Co. C, 10th NC Troops.. (1st NC Artillery).  Enlisted at Moffitt's Mill on 1 Jul 1861 at the age of 22.  Was a private in the group known as as the "Charlotte Artillery".  This battery lost four of its 6 guns during the battles of New Bern  14 Mar 1862.  When the people of Charlotte heard of this loss, they gave their church bells to be cast as new guns.  He served until the end of the war and was never wounded. See page 449 of the book "Heritage of Randolph County, NC".
