John Henry SPARGER

Volunteered 5 Jun 1861 at Surry.  He received a wound 25 May 1862 at Winchester, VA.  His shoulder was dislocated in an accident that happened on the railroad.  He received a disability discharge 7 Mar 1865.  Pvt. Co I 21 reg NC


Henderson D "Luke" STANLEY

Was living in Rockingham Co. NC in 1862.  He entered service at Camp Mangum not far from Raleigh 29 Apr 1862.  He suffered a wound 13 Jul 1864 at Washington, DC.  He transferred to CO A 28 REG NC and suffered a wound in the  left arm 2 Apr 1865 at Petersburg, VA.  The arm had to be amputated.  He was taken prisoner 3 Apr 1865 and was sent to Fort Monroe, VA, Hospital 17 May 1865.  He was freed 21 Jun 1865.  After the war, Henderson went to SC and sold tobacco from a covered wagon.
