Henry CAVE

Volunteered at Dobson 18 Sep 1861 when he was 34.  Sent to Richmond 2nd Battalion 1 Nov 1861.  Then to Wilmington, NC, and then to Roanoke Island in Feb 1862.  Taken prisoner there 8 Feb 1862, paroled at Elizabeth City, NC 21Feb 1862.  Taken prisoner again 12 Jun 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House, VA, he was a POW at point Lookout, MD and was paroled 11 Oct 1864 at Cox's Wharf, James River, VA.  He was hospitalized 16 Oct 1864 at richmond.  He is listed on the 1870 census.


John CAVE

Volunteered at Dobson 18 May 1861 in the first company to organize and leave for training.  Discharged 16 Dec 1861 because of anemia.  He enlisted again in Wake County 17 Aug 1862 when he was 32.  Suffering a wound in the leg at Wilderness, VA, 5 May 1864, he was back on duty by July or Aug 1864.  He was present at the surrender at Appomattox Court House, VA, 9 Apr 1865.


James P WHITE

Volunteered at Dobson 4 May 1861. He was active until he died on 12 Aug 1862 of typhoid fever at a Lynchburg, VA, hospital.  Pvt. Co A 28 Reg NC


Susan A FREEMAN

may have been previously married to a Mr. Cave as 1900 census shows her married to Andrew Beamer with him as stepfather to Harrison Cave age 8 b. Mar 1892


George W CAVE

Does not appear on 1910 census
