Notes from death event: Died of injuries received when she was thrown from a carriage on the way to churchk, as the horse shied because of a snake..She lies in an unmarked grave, with only stones at head and feet.  The grave is across form her home on Glade Creek, on property owned by the Thompson family.


William WILLIAMS

died a soldier.


Thomas Jefferson RIGGS

He entered CSA 18 Feb 1864.  He suffered a gunshot wound and entered a Richmond hospital 6 Jun 1864.  He was taken prisoner 2 Apr 1865 around Petersburg, VA and was a POW at Point Lookout, MD.  He took the Oath of Allegiance 17 Jun 1865 and came home.  Pvt Co A 28 Reg NC
